Back to finish up my blogging series about our trip to Antarctica...that I started last year... :)
After spending the entire previous day crossing the Drake Passage, we were a little disappointed to wake up the next morning still seeing only water again. We still had several hours to go before arriving in Antarctica.
Before we went to bed the night before, our Expedition Leader Lucho cautioned us to secure everything in our cabins as overnight the Explorer began its navigation across the fabled Drake Passage.
Most glaciers we cruised past simply fell into the ocean, but the Bernal Glacier is back from the shore a short distance....
After cruising all the first night, I woke up early the next morning, grabbed my coffee and camera (in that order), and headed outside to watch the sun rise on our new adventure!
Kim and I returned last week from a 3-week expedition to a part of the globe we never dreamed we'd ever see with our own eyes.
