Another of our "littles" is growing up too fast!
Most of the cousins were there...
...to keep things lively!
Table full of love, right there!
(Major Gramaw/photographer fail...poor Krew's face got hidden behind the Lego-flower centerpiece...sorry I didn't catch that in time!)
These two silly cousins, Lucy and Ellie, have WAY TOO MUCH FUN together!
Ellie did a great job reading her own cards this year. So proud of the progress she's making at her new school!
Two of Ellie's favorite people in the whole world...her brother Koda (with his pirate face!) and oldest cousin Karter, whom she has always adored!
Lucy showed Ellie how the Bitzee works. Bitzees are this generation's digital pets.
Like the Tamagotchis were for my kids, back in the 1990s.
And like the Pet Rocks were back in the 1970s. Oh wait...they weren't digital (we had no idea what digital even meant...calculators were brand new inventions back then!)...they were rocks that someone clever made a fortune selling.
Because who doesn't need a little gadget in their life to feed and rock to sleep and clean up their poop afterwards? Oh yeah...back in the day I got suckered into babysitting for Emily's Tamagotchi so it didn't die while she went to school...the sacrifices of motherhood...
Daniel was all about it too. But that kid loves anything electronic!
The Whaley gang with their birthday girl...
May all your wishes come true, my sweet Ellie!
Manicure time with the new nail polish set...
But the gift that brought the most laughter of the afternoon was the Color Reveal Barbie.
When you put the Barbie in a tube of water, she magically changes color! There was something a little creepy to me about drowning a doll and laughing about it....
But she did come out beautiful! Barbies always do...
These two silly girls could not quit laughing!
What a fun celebration for our birthday girl!
Ellie's nine now.
