Beach Beckoning

Even though I love my Indiana cabin set amongst the cornfields, every so often I feel the beach beckoning me.

So each summer (and some years we get to go more than once) we schedule a whole week at our favorite beach, Emerald Isle, North Carolina, to satisfy that longing and spend wonderful unhurried time with our children and their families.

As our family has gotten bigger, we have outgrown many rental homes over the years. This is "our" latest beach home named Compass Pointe which I'm hoping will be our last upgrade for awhile.

With 10 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a huge kitchen, game room, exercise room, movie theater room, as well as lots of porches, private pool, hot tub, and outdoor living area, it is a very nice place for our family to stay. We're all under the same roof and share common living and eating areas, but there's also plenty of space when you need a little peace and quiet.

The best part is that it's just a short walk across the sand dune to the seashore!

We love that there's lots of room for all of us to sit down and eat together!

Meanwhile, every morning I relished early morning porch time with the grandkids...

One cannot even imagine the number of words spoken that week before breakfast and all the knowledge/random facts that were shared by these smarties! Even Ada had plenty to add to the conversation!
