Our first-grade granddaughter Lucy invited us to her school for Grandparents Day...Kim and I and Lucy's other grandma Peggy all got to spend some time our sweet girl in her school digs.
Excuse the awkward photo...they really should have had chairs for us old folks!
Lucy-girl has her own half-locker in her classroom.
Having been a second-grade teacher myself, elementary classrooms make me happy! I love just checking them out.
Lucy with her teacher Mrs. Gloyeske. My, don't the teachers look so young these days?! I'm sure Lucy is a joy to have as a student (says this totally unbiased grandma...). Mrs. Gloyeske says Lucy is her little artist, bringing her pictures all the time.
She had a little project to do with her grandparents...making a Gratitude Jar. I do believe this is the first time I've ever seen Kim help with a school (or, for that matter, any other) craft project. But you know, adorable granddaughters have their grandpas wrapped around their fingers!
Her classroom friend Alyssa, who sits across the table from her...
Lucy loved leading us around her school...
We had to find her best friend Seraphina...
...and VERY IMPORTANT to get our cookie snack!
I helped her read a book...
...and Papaw had to get some tickles in!
She was so thrilled the three of us were there!
Fun afternoon with our favorite first-grader!
