The Beach with My Peeps
08/11/2022
...is this one.
Emerald Isle beach in North Carolina is one of my favorite spots on earth, and seeing my peeps loving the ocean as much as I do makes me smile.
For the first time since the pandemic upended our world, Kim and I were thrilled that our entire family was able to spend a week with us on Emerald Isle.
It was Baby Ada's first family vacation and, as you can see, she was totally impressed...
We keep outgrowing our beach rentals, but I think we've finally got a home we won't outgrow for awhile. It's a brand new home (still lots of finishing details inside that aren't done) and how fun and ironic that it is situated right next door to the very first beach duplex Kim and I rented when we first started bringing our little ones to Emerald Isle.
That's Sea Oats to the left. We've come a long way in 40 years!
Just a quick tour of the new digs...a pretty incredible place to spend the week!
Finally...2 big tables so we have plenty of eating space (something lacking in our last beach home).
There was even a game room...where 4-year-old Daniel (you can barely see him sitting on the right) dominated the older cousins and even some adults with his skills.
Daniel was living his best life that week!
A theater room, which the men used to entertain the kiddos one night while the gals went to see the movie "Where the Crawdads Sing" (highly recommend!).
But my favorite part of the house is the wonderful big porch on the main level.
I love my morning porch time with Lucy (6 years old) and all of the other grandbabies.
The pool and hot tub were wonderful after dinner each evening, when you are tired of dealing with sunscreen and sand and just want to chill.
But most of the daylight hours were spent oceanside.
Kamaron and his children, Juni (6 1/2) and Krew (8)...
Dana had fun swimming in the ocean with her boys Kaden (12) and Karter (14)...
Kristoffer's family with a little Spike Ball action...
Emily and Zach keeping watch over their two littles...
...Koda (5) and Ellie (7 1/2).
Kim loves his beach naps...
Kristoffer and Dana...
The four oldest grandkids walking the beach together...
Kyler and his two boys...
Of course, I love photographing the shorebirds...
My big boys still love the beach!
Koda spent a lot of time digging in the sand...
Daniel (4) had fun spinning and throwing it. For a short while before he began throwing in the "wrong" direction...
Our little acrobat Lucy...always ready to practice her skills.
Abram spent lots of his time collecting shells, specifically olive shells.
Lots more photos to share in the next few days, of wonderful days spent...
...at the beach with my peeps.
Take me back! ☺️❤️
