Cousins

One last post before I say farewell to the beach until next summer...

There is something very special about the bond that cousins have. Kim and I both grew up surrounded by cousins and have wonderful memories of our time with these first, built-in friends God provided for us. I want my grandchildren to have that too, and it's one of the biggest reasons I love our family beach vacations...seeing the cousins create relationships with each other.

Some of my favorite cousin moments from the week...

One evening Kim and I kept all the kiddos (except Ada, who is strongly attached to Mommy Kara) while their parents had a date night. I asked the children what their favorite part of the week was and most of them told about something special they had done with their cousins.

Like taking walks together and collecting shells. Just simple times with people they love.

I'm so glad they have each other...these are their people, the next generation.

Cousins.
