Pia Glacier
12/15/2021
Another passenger shared this shot with me...he was standing on the front bow of the Explorer looking back toward the ship.
Kim and I are on the far left...me in my orange parka and Kim wearing navy beside me.
Another day of stunning blue landscapes!
Early that morning, the water was very calm in the bay so several passengers opted to kayak. Thinking we'd see more and have better photography opportunities, Kim and I decided to do a Zodiac cruise instead.
A rock cormorant swimming alongside us...
How in the world a tree can ever grow and survive here, only God knows...
Oystercatchers...
Those kayaks look mighty small compared to the massive glacier...
A rock full of...
...kelp gulls.
Blue-eyed shag....
Arctic terns are gorgeous birds!
And noisy!
All that bird poo makes for great lichen fertilizer...
That is some mighty frigid water flowing off those mountains...
Before we sailed on to Antarctica, one last glorious day in Patagonia...
...exploring the Pia Glacier.
