School's Out for the Summer

Schoolout-2

Yay...it's summer break!

Schoolout-5

My Ohio 1st-grader, Abram, was the first of the grandkids to get out of school.

Schoolout-5

I LOVE his summer plans!!! Yes, we are going to Hawaii in July!!!

Schoolout-5

His 3-year-old brother Daniel wanted a last-day-of-school picture too!

Our homeschooled grandkids, Krew and Juni, finished up last week as well.

And then yesterday, the other 5 grandchildren in school had their last day at Shenandoah.

Momma Dana put together this re-creation of Karter and Kaden...when Kaden was starting kindergarten and then yesterday as he finished 5th grade. I love it!!!

I was thrilled to get to attend Kaden's 5th grade Graduation from Shenandoah Elementary.

He's the handsome kid in the royal blue shirt on the right...

Kaden received several awards...

Kaden5thgrad-7

Outstanding 5th grade Social Studies student...

Kaden5thgrad-7

Outstanding 5th grade math student...

And the biggest honor was the Principal's Award for achieving All-A's for every grading period in both 4th and 5th grade.

Great things ahead for this kiddo!

Kaden5thgrad-7

There were only 5 students in his class of 98 that achieved this!

(That's his little "girlfriend" on the end...she's pretty cute and smart, and he'll be quite a catch in SEVERAL years)

Getting his 5th grade diploma from his teacher, Mrs. Daunhauer. He's as big as she is!

Singing is not Kaden's forte, but he reluctantly obliged...

The final graduation march out of the gym...

Off to Middle School in August!

Schoolout-1

I had plans to take photos of the kids getting off the school bus the last day. Dana and Kristoffer were going to have a little celebration in the driveway.

Schoolout-1

Silly String has been hard to come by this spring, but she managed to buy a few cans....

This is where a more-prepared Gramaw/photographer would insert photos of colorful strands of Silly String squiggling through the air, landing in tangled rainbow clusters on the hair and shoulders of giggling and squealing kiddos. But alas, this time I was NOT that forementioned prepared Gramaw/photographer and just as the bus was coming down the road I realized my camera's memory card was full and there was no time to reload a new card. So I missed capturing all of the craziness that ensued and ended up going home with tangled rainbow clusters of Silly String on MY hair and shoulders and no photos to show for it!

Oh well. It happens...

Schoolout-1

But I think we're all ready for a break after the weirdest, pandemic-influenced school year ever.

School's out for the summer!
