Tracksters
04/14/2021
Karter is a 7th-grader at Shenandoah Middle School. Covid canceled school track season last year, so this is his first time doing track for the Raiders.
He ran the 400m as well as the 4x400m relay.
Just like his daddy Kristoffer did 20 years ago...
As I'm looking at these photos this morning, I'm wondering where our little boy went? All of a sudden, Karter is turning into a man right before our eyes!
Karter finished 2nd with a very respectable time of 1:08.
Lots of potential for him to become a very good 400 man in the next few years!
I just love this kiddo!
Karter is also doing long jump...
...finishing in the middle of the pack during his first meet.
The final event of the evening, for both Karter and his team, was the 4x400 relay. Karter ran the first leg...
All 3 handoffs were successful! That's a win in itself!
The team was in second going into the final leg, and Karter's teammate Hayden brought it home, passing the leader on the first turn and never looking back!
The joy of victory, right here!
I also got to watch these three beauties who are part of my church family compete very well.
Anna is an awesome runner...
...and won her event easily.
Well, not "easily" as running is never "easy"...
She also ran the first leg of the girls' 4x400...
...passing the baton to Lydia....
...and Kayci ran the anchor leg bringing home the victory.
Kayci won her individual race as well...
Kayci also competed in the high jump.
Lydia's gymnastics expertise came in handy...
...as those springy legs helped her win the high jump.
It's going to be fun watching these kids compete in the days and years to come!
The beginnings of ...
...great tracksters.
Aubrey and Ethan have their track debut tonight!
