Over the Tetons
Last Day in the Tetons

Frigid But Fantastic

Tetons-9

Our first morning in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, we got up at the crack of dawn to see the early morning light on the Teton Mountains.

Tetons-6

It was absolutely FRIGID!!!

But we were crazy photographers, willing to endure the elements for "the shot."

Tetons-6

Our 2 NatHab vans drove to this overlook and we walked across the drifts, freezing our noogies off...

...for this!

Yes, it was definitely worth it!

Coyote-2

After the spectacular sunrise, we spent our morning cruising through the frosty landscape in search of wildlife.

Where there are coyote tracks...

Coyote-2

...one can usually find a coyote.

Moose-1

We had barely got warmed up in the toasty vans before we came across this moose fairly close to the road. So of course, we hopped out for another frigid photo shoot.

Moose-1

Actually, it was 2 moose...a cow and its half-grown calf.

Moose-1

Please humor me as I have several moose shots...gotta have something to show for enduring those temperatures!

After posing for several minutes, Mama and youngster wandered off to find more willow shoots to munch on.

Wildlifeartmuseum-1

To top off a great morning around Jackson Hole, we warmed up browsing through the National Wildlife Art Museum and enjoyed a delicious lunch in their restaurant.

Tetons-23

After lunch, more scenic driving and wildlife-spotting...

Muledeer-1

A few mule deer having fun on the snow drifts around some cabins...

More moose...

Tetons-28

Kim especially loved seeing the moose, and we saw several in the area.

Tetons-28

Definitely not planning on it...

A February day in the Tetons...

...frigid but fantastic!
