Long Shot
11/20/2020
Saturn (bright object just above and to the right of the moon) = 800,000,000 miles from Earth
Jupiter (brightest object on right) = 483,000,000 miles from Earth.
Give or take a few thousand miles...
The bright light we see from Jupiter takes 46 minutes to travel at the speed of light (duh!) across space from the planet to our eyeballs. Mind-boggling how ENORMOUS is our universe!
As I stood in our orchard last night, taking this photograph, I thought "Wow!
That truly is...
...a long shot!"
