Just What Gramaw Needed

Ohiogkds-16

The month of August is a blur.

Probably the most stressful month I've had in a very long time.  Caring for Mama and dealing with her situation left me addled and frazzled both emotionally and physically.  Not only did I feel the weight of Mama's well-being on my shoulders, I also felt terrible that I hadn't spent much time with my own family.

I needed a grandbaby fix.  So I jumped in the VeraCruz, cranked up the music, and had myself a very therapeutic 2-hour drive and much-needed visit with my Ohio littles.

Spending the day with Daniel, 2 years old...

...Lucy, 4 years old...

...and 6-year-old Abram brightened my spirits, for sure!

The healing powers of paper airplane engineering and bird talk with Abram...

...Lucy's piano recital and singing concert...

...and Daniel's sweet hugs and mesmerizing blue eyes is just amazing!

He's ready to start 1st grade.  How did he get to be so big so fast?!

Lucy brushed and styled my hair, practicing her ponytail skills.

What a goofy little sweetheart she is!

Oh, and all 3 of these younguns have the sweetest, most precious neck sugar for Gramaw to smooch!

Before I left, of course we had to try out the new ice cream place near them.  Yes, Abram is holding Gramaw's nut-and-chocolate-covered waffle cone with a scoop of Joe Football ice cream.  No doubt Gramaw will be a frequent imbiber at the UDF shop on my future visits....scrumptious!

A day filled with neck sugar, youthful energy, and ice cream was...

...just what Gramaw needed.
