"Rah-Rah, RAIDERS!"
Grandparents' Day

We're #1!!!

Shs#1-33

Our Shenandoah Raider boys' varsity basketball game has risen to the top of the Indiana rankings...#1 in Class 2A!

That does not happen often, so we are definitely relishing the accomplishment.  At 13-1 (with their one loss being to a huge school), our Raiders certainly deserve the accolades.

But what is more even more special than their prowess on the basketball court is their brotherly love for their teammates.  That is the magic of their success!

A few weeks ago, one of their teammates lost a brother to cancer, and our team even invited the visiting team to join them in solidarity and support for this young man and his family.  Hence the green warm-up shirts they all are wearing.

Sometimes it's easy to lose perspective, but there are a LOT more important things in life than basketball.

Colton expressed his gratitude to the Shenandoah family for their love and support during this devastating time.

Our two favorite cheerleaders...Abby and Hannah.  We've known them since they were born...they are part of our church family and two of the sweetest girls I know!

Dramatic team introductions...

Let's play basketball!!!

I don't know many of the boys on the team, but I have loose connections with a few.  This young man is the son of Kristoffer's varsity basketball coach 20 years ago.  I remember him as a baby...now he's one of several outstanding junior basketball players!

It was not the best game I've seen them play (when you're #1, everyone is gunning for you!), but the Raiders prevailed.

It's going to be fun to watch this team in the upcoming state tournament.  Maybe this is the year of the Raiders, and that we can truly say at the end of the season...

...we're #1!
