The Best was Last

Famchristms-2

Of the four family Christmas celebrations we had, our very best one was the last one...when all of our kids and grandkids got together the Saturday after Christmas.

Since each one of our children are creating their own Christmas traditions, I am content to wait until after the actual day to celebrate.  My heart is so full when we are ALL together!!!

The littlest Gray...Daniel is 19 months old and a real charmer, for sure.

And he loves candles.  And fire.  Like his older brother Abram....

Kim fixed a fajita feast...

These 11 cousins were wound up...they could hardly wait to finish eating to open presents!

Karter, our oldest grandson at 11 years old, has always been our head elf passing out gifts.

A few photos from the ensuing gift-opening chaos...

The #1 thing on Kassie's list this year was a Barbie Dreamhouse.  Santa wasn't able to fit one onto his sleigh, so Gramaw and Papaw came through.

She opened a box with all the Barbie furniture and note...

...and was all smiles when Papaw brought it out of hiding!

These are the looks Gramaw lives for!!!

Famchristms-36

Can you even believe I was able to coax Papaw into putting this monstrosity together?  What Papaws will do for their beloved granddaughters....

Famchristms-36

Karter is our family Lego master....

Our gift to the family (which Kim and I have been saving for the past 5 years...) is a trip to Hawaii...a Hawaiian cruise in July 2020 to celebrate our 40th anniversary.

Famchristms-36

So we gave out the itinerary and details to them all.  What a fun trip that will be!!!

Famchristms-44

Ten, maybe 15 minutes later, all those hours of shopping and wrapping decimated...just like that!

Famchristms-44

After the wrapping paper settles, we always go around and do a little Show-and-Tell so everyone can enjoy all the gifts.

Long braided hairpieces were a big hit with the little girls....

Famchristms-105

...and even the big girls had to try them on!

Kaden tried his hand at the little boys' sports center...

Yes, that is my ceramic nativity scene hugging the wall on the left, amidst this wild scene.  Thankfully, Baby Jesus survived another Christmas season without incident....

An interactive book...very cool technology!

A rousing game of Quiplash for the older crowd...

...while the kids headed outside to enjoy the amazingly unseasonable 60-degrees-and-sunny Christmas Day!

Krew and Abram are always exploring together and searching for treasures!

This Christmas Day's best find...a shotgun shell casing!

Famchristms-87

And, of course, a variety of feathers.  Their mommas just LOVE these collections....

Famchristms-87

And this sweet boy couldn't get enough Cheetos or cookies!

The last Christmas of the decade is officially in the books.  And what a great one it was!

While we enjoyed all our celebrations, I have to say, for sure...

...the best was last.
