Grandparents' Day
01/31/2020
We are so blessed that Abram's other set of grandparents are a couple of our closest friends. Jeff wasn't able to come, but Peggy rode down with us to share the special day with our boy.
Crosby Elementary School is truly "old school"...reminds me of my own Hagerstown Elementary School where I went to school and later taught second grade. But right behind this old school they are building a brand new facility, which is exciting for the community, and all three of the Gray kids will get to enjoy the new building soon.
We waited in the gym until the kindergarten classes came in to meet us. Abram was so excited to see us!!! Makes a Gramaw's heart sing to see that big smile and wave when he spotted us! (I was too busy waving to take a photo!)
There were games/activities set up on tables for the children to do with their grandparents.
Mrs. Dorsch is his kindergarten teacher. I knew she was a special one before school even started, as she sent home "magic glitter confetti" for her little students to put under their pillows the night before the first day of school. How could she NOT be a very cool teacher?!
Abram took us on a tour of his room...
Their daily classroom survey agrees...EVERYONE was excited about Grandparents Day!
Abram at his table "desk"...
He shares his locker with his neighbor friend Grey.
We made snowmen...
Gramaw's version...
We listened to him count to 100...easy peasy for this smart kiddo!
Abram told us that these words are "CVC" words..."consonant vowel consonant". That's a new one for this former elementary teacher!
His snowman was on display in the hallway...
...along with his heart telling why he loves us!
So glad we have really fun holiday parties!!!
A wonderful afternoon with a very special kindergartener!
Grandparents Day.
