Ordained
10/28/2019
Yesterday, Kim and I were overjoyed to be part of the worship service where our son Kamaron was ordained by God and the church as a pastor.
Since the day Kamaron was born 33 years ago, Kim and I have prayed for him (as we have for all of our children), that God would use Kamaron in a mighty way to further His Kingdom.
While over those 33 years, God has answered those prayers in various ways, yesterday was another huge answer to our prayers.
Is this the same kid that was terrified at the thought of public speaking when he had to give the Salutatorian address at his high school graduation? I was truly worried he might intentionally throw his grades so he wouldn't have to speak, and it took lots of coaxing to get him up in front of the crowd. Amazing what God can do!
Now he is a passionate and very competent speaker, relying on God for boldness and confidence in the pulpit.
God brought him into pastoral ministry at this small country church near Pendleton. He's been filling in as interim pastor for a few months now, and yesterday they made it official in a wonderful worship celebration.
Two of the elders from Kamaron's previous church, Memorial Baptist Church in New Castle, participated in the ordination service,....
...while many MBC members joined the Harvest Bible Fellowship family for the special occasion.
So wonderful to see that beautiful little church filled with worshipers!
Tobby Smith, pastor of MBC, has been a fabulous mentor and encourager as Kamaron has grown in his faith. He was pleased to be the officiant for Kamaron's ordination.
Here Pastor Tobby is presenting Kamaron's public examination, as he posed a trio of questions about the gospel and faith for Kamaron to proclaim truth of doctrine to his new congregation.
I would have been a nervous wreck, but Kamaron handled the questions with wonderful Biblical knowledge, eloquence, and passion.
Pastor Tobby then read from 2 Timothy 4: 1-8 as he charged Kamaron with his important new responsibilities and privileges as a pastor.
The Memorial Baptist family presented Kamaron with a shepherd's crook engraved with his name and ordination date, as a reminder of the crucial shepherding responsibilities of pastoring a congregation.
Wow. This Mama was blown away with gratitude!
Kamaron was introduced to the church as their newly-ordained pastor....
...and church members as well as MBC friends laid hands on him and his family in prayer as they begin this new journey.
Kamaron gave a brief charge to his new congregation....
...and then the service ended with lots of hugs and love between new and old friends.
Kamaron is especially grateful to these two Christian brothers from Memorial Baptist. Steve and Tobby have been wonderful influences and helped Kamaron grow during his time at MBC.
Some of the Memorial Baptist leadership who came to support Kamaron and Anique...
Dana made some beautiful and delicious cookies to celebrate the big day....
Kim and Chuck, one of the leaders of Harvest Bible Fellowship...both were thrilled for Kamaron's new pastoral role.
What a day of celebration! Witnessing our son Kamaron's...
...ordination.
This is so awesome! I know God has BIG plans for him...this is just a start. Blessings...and Congrats! And of course those yummy, beautiful cookies got to be a part of it as well! I see lots of orders coming her way now.
