Two Are Better Than One

Their Y coach was gone, so Mommy Anique and Daddy Kamaron filled in for the evening. Anique and Kamaron were both very good soccer players a few years ago, but coaching these littles requires a different set of skills.
Krew has been playing for a couple of years now, improving drastically every year.
Juni waiting with Daddy on the sideline for her soccer debut...
Krew's confidence and skills continue to grow!
Juni's turn....
We weren't quite sure how Juni would react.
I can't help but remember her daddy's 4-year-old soccer debut...he was great in practices but when game time came he never moved from his spot on the field. Never. Moved. He stood on that same patch of grass looking down at the ground the whole time. His coach was frustrated and his dad Kim was exasperated. Why didn't he chase after the ball?? Kamaron told us later he wouldn't play because he didn't know those other kids.
I wondered if Juni would be the same.
But oh no! Juni was ALL IN from the get-go and she loved it!!!
The look of determination on that sweet girl's face!
Krew has a great understanding of the game and is very athletic.
It's neat to watch him strategize and position himself on the field. You can almost see the wheels turning in that cute little sweaty head.
But it was really fun to see both Juni and Krew playing on the field together!
Juni was not timid at all and not afraid to mix it up with the boys.
After all, she's been playing with her big brother all her life. No boys are going to intimidate her!
Juni came very close to scoring a goal!
And she was pretty excited!
Half-time...that is one sweaty mountain, there!
Soccer is a rough game....
Checking out the boo-boo situation...nothing life-threatening...
Don't even try to score a goal on this girl...
Juni did a great job at goalie!
Teaching good sportsmanship...Juni has not yet quite figured out the hand-clapping system...
Love, love, LOVE my little soccer duo!
Two Gray kickers are better than one.
