What a perfect evening for this traditional start to summer!

Since Kim is not into parades (in the 37 years we've lived here, he's never once gone), Dana invited me to go with her.  All four of her children were in the parade, so of course Gramaw wanted to go!

Leading off the parade was our very own church friend Erikka, who was recently crowned IHSAA state shot put champion!  She makes us proud!

Parade-6

We were sitting at the beginning of the parade route, so we all got showered with LOTS of candy from people we know!

I am a bit partial...love me some handsome Marines!

In recent years, Middletown has had 3 fallen military heroes...celebrating their service and sacrifice...

Our friend Luke (far right corner) playing his trumpet in the Shenandoah Marching Band...

I truly appreciate how the driver is perfectly color-coordinated with his tractor....

Karter (in middle) and his major league baseball team....

Parade-41

He was throwing candy and the camera captured that purple sucker just as it cleared his cap...looks like it's stuck there!

Parade-41

Kaden (with his minor league team) very generously PELTED candy at us!  That ornery look in his eyes....we see it often!
