Easter Treasure Hunters
04/25/2019
After wonderful morning church services, the family met at the cabin for lunch. And of course, the annual Easter egg hunt.
There was a little discrepancy on egg-actly how many eggs were hidden, but 70 were found. Papaw never minds if a few are missing...he gets a little snack while he's mowing later!
After a couple of rainy days, the weather on Sunday was perfect for visiting on the cabin porch.
Daniel didn't know he was missing out on candy...he was happy with his football and hula hoop!
After they revved up on Easter candy, Gramaw sent them out in two teams for scavenger hunts.
The boys race to find their next clue!
And the girls are off on their own treasure hunt!
Sometimes the teams got a little mixed up, but it all worked out in the end.
The boys used the metal detector to locate their hidden dollar coins.
And the girls discovered their treasure hidden inside the mailbox.
The littlest girls were more interested in following the extremely pregnant kitty. (No worries....we had plenty of adult lookouts to be sure no cars were coming down our country road)
I think the Easter excitement put Mama Kitty into labor...she gave birth to 7 (yes, SEVEN!!!) babies early this week.
The porch looked like an Easter basket or ten had exploded!
Don't break my chair, you two lovebirds!
This is my favorite "treasure" photo of the day. Who cares about stashes of coins when one can find scavenge feathers and corn instead?
A successful day for my...
...Easter treasure hunters.
Oh my goodness! That picture of Abram and his corn and feather! We still have both and he keeps track of them religiously!
