Noogy-Freezin' Weather
01/21/2019
Everyone in the Midwest has the same tale to tell...Saturday brought a major winter storm, ushered in by a huge cold front that held us captive in a deep freeze over the weekend.
Kim warned me, as I opened the front door of our cabin yesterday, "You'll freeze your noogies."
We don't know what a noogy is. Or exactly where that phrase came from.
But it's safe to say that anything (noogy or not) would freeze out there!
But it sure was beautiful!!!
We only got about 3 inches of snow (on top of the icy coating of frozen rain), but the vicious winds whipped all night and left some pretty big snowdrifts.
I did venture beyond the porch (see my shadow?) to capture the beauty in the gorgeous just-after-sunrise light.
Diamond-coated trees and glittery snow...I believe God gives us tiny glimpses into Heaven on mornings like this!
Even with temperatures in the single digits, the sunshine directly hitting the icicles was making them melt.
I didn't stay out long...too cold for this girl and her camera.
It's noogy-freezin' weather.
