Outside: the second solid day of rain.  Gray and grayer skies.  Yuck, yuck, yuck.

I wish it were snow.  At least snow is clean and bright and pretty to look at.  If it had been snow, we'd be cabin-bound in about 2 feet of it right now.  

Inside:  Kim was sick.  All day.  Nothing brings a girl's mood down than being around a sick man all day long.  Yuck, yuck, yuck.

And to finish off 2018, we had to cancel our much-anticipated New Year's Eve plans with our friends.

Yep, I was in a funk the final day of 2018.  Kim went to bed at 7:30 and I stayed up until 10:00.  Woo-hoo....

But today...

Today is a new day, a fresh start, a brand new year!

I don't know yet if Kim is better (he's still in bed).

I don't know what the weather forecast is, whether we'll start off 2019 like the dreary weather that ended 2018 or whether the sun will actually shine.

But I do know that today is a new day, a gift from God, the beginning of a brand new year.

The slate is clean and I'm ready to begin the adventure ahead with a smile in my heart!
