Tigers of '73

This is more how I remember them...as seniors of the Hagerstown High School Class of 1973.
I think they had right around 100 in their graduating class and 33 of them were at the evening's reunion.
He's on the right side, looking cute as ever!
As a sophomore two years behind this class, I was quite intimidated by their "maturity" and "adultness." Back in those days at our school, the underclassmen did not mingle much with the seniors...they were in a league of their own. It was a small school, so I knew everyone's name, but I doubt they knew mine and I certainly wasn't friends with many of them.
Bobby (on the left) was the much-older-and-wiser brother of my first childhood friend Kathy. We all lived on the County Line Road, less than 1/4 mile apart, and grew up together. Bobby was the appointed leader of many of my childhood adventures...walking the railroad tracks (and jumping off into the side ditch when the many trains rumbled by), exploring the woods, swinging on hanging vines, playing in the creek (all trespassing on property that did not belong to either of our families...). Bobby, Kathy, and I would pack a picnic and spend the entire day on adventures. Mama was always okay with it as long as Bobby was going...she probably trusted him more than she should have! What wonderful memories of those times together!
Jackie is probably reminiscing with him about school bus antics, as she rode our bus too.
Hard to believe so many years have passed by....
A few more shots from their wonderful 45th class reunion....
That class had lots of great athletes, and Tim was one of their best. He flew in from his New Jersey home to emcee the event.
Looking through elementary school photos...
Barry (peach shirt) also rode my bus and had a brother in my class (1975)...
Steve shared some wonderful thoughts and prayed a blessing for the food.
He also rode my bus.
Yes...there was more than one bus route back then. But ours was the best!
The snack table of a very nice catered meal...
Jo catches up with one of our teachers and 4-H leaders, Miss Veach. She was amazing and had a great influence on many, many girls in our high school.
Former teachers had fun reminiscing too...
Yvonne, in the black, was one of my classmates who married a '73er Jeff.
Lots of these people I barely knew or didn't know at all, but it's amazing how the years diminish the intimidation factor.
Maybe I've gotten a lot bolder? Yep...I'm sure that's the case....
Two of the best guys you'll ever want to meet...Steve and Kim....
Not sure what was happening here, but these facial expressions crack me up!
My friend Mary (with her cell phone in back) also graduated with me and married an "older" fella Allan.
Miriam went to church with me...I've known her my entire life but haven't seen her for years.
A very enjoyable evening with a great group of folks...
...the Tigers of '73.
