Fly-In Fun
07/20/2018
When Anique invited me to join them for an afternoon watching airplanes take off and land at my hometown Hagerstown's small airport, I couldn't resist an outing with this bunch!
Anique had her two littles (4-year-old Krew and 2 1/2-year-old Juni) and invited Kassie (5 1/2), Kaden (8), and Karter (10) to join us.
The Hagerstown airport boasts one of the longest (if not THE longest) grass runway in the world at over 4000 feet. All Tuesday afternoon, vintage planes were taking off and landing....
...and even giving biplane rides. If we hadn't had 5 children with us, Anique and I would both have definitely been flying high! Next year....
Up close to medical helicopters...
All the kids climbed inside except Juni, who wanted nothing to do with it.
Lots of vintage planes were on display, and we meandered through...
...and Gramaw made the kids look right into the sun for photos.
Hagerstown has a growing Amish population, and like all children (and adults!) they were fascinated by the helicopters.
Several antique cars were there as well. This car was created in the same year as my Daddy!
The only real suitable shade we could find for our picnic...behind our van!
Love these sweet, sweet faces!
How could we make a trip to Hagerstown and not stop at The Dairy for ice cream???
The perfect ending to our...
...fly-in fun.
Thank you for joining with us! It was really fun and a memorable event for our littles :) I was thrilled Dana's "babies" jumped in to join us as well.

That is so awesome! Thanks so much for sharing. What a beautiful day. I knew this going on and would of loved to come, but I was back at work. So wish they did this event on a weekend. My father would of loved this. His Dad flew these planes from that era!
