Pre-Easter Egg Hunt

Lunch-5

Since Kim and I will be in Kenya on Easter, and since the day was beautiful, and since eight children under the age of 9 inside our little cabin can get a bit crazy...we decided to do a pre-Easter egg hunt after lunch on Sunday.

Lunch-1

While Papaw and Gramaw were finishing up lunch, some of the grandbabies filled the eggs with dollar bills and chocolate eggs.

Others (not mentioning any names, but I never saw our littlest Lucy fill even one single egg...) filled their tummies with chocolate eggs...

Lunch-4

The bigger-kids' table...always a busy/silly/noisy/fun place to be....

Lunch-6

Their dads/uncles hid the eggs and they were off on the hunt!

Lunch-11

I think I spy

an orange egg up high!

Kassie was gracious enough to let her little cousin Abram have the egg they both spotted at the same time.

Krew couldn't quite stretch tall enough...

...but his sweet cousin Karter was there to help!

I just love how my grandkids love each other!  Makes a Gramaw's heart sing!!!

Lunch-21

After all the hidden eggs had been accounted for, it was back to the cabin porch to dig into the goodies!

Except for Juni, who took her stash inside the cabin to quietly stuff as many chocolate eggs into her mouth as possible before she was discovered.

I love that girl!

What a gorgeous Sunday afternoon to get rid of a little bit of cabin fever and burn off some energy!

Aunt Kara and Kassie...

Our future paleontologist was excited to discover some bones...more likely a gnawed-on ham bone than a dinosaur bone, but whatever...

Lunch-42

A fun day all the way around!  And I'm feeling a little less sad about missing Easter with these sweethearts, because I got to enjoy our...

...pre-Easter egg hunt.

What a beautiful pre-Easter ritual with all eight grandchildren!!!!
I was transported to the very first time I wanted to do this in the Bronx with all four of our grandchildren!
In the Bronx in a small apartment, I hid the eggs all over the place when they were unawares!
Each one scurrying to find an egg! They were stuffed with money and/or coins!
The middle boy was delighted to have a couple of dollars!

Karter is such a kind, gentle older cousin to look up to! What a great moment captured there. We had the best day possible to do that hunt compared to the other days!
