Grandkids' Week
11/17/2017
The first four days of November, these sweet hooligans from next door stayed at the cabin with us while Daddy Kristoffer and Mommy Dana had a much-needed and deserved little getaway.
Of course, monkey bread is always on the breakfast menu when I've got monkeys to help me make it!
Karter and Kaden had school each day, so after I got them up and ready and on the school bus (I'm definitely out of practice!), it was just Kim and me and the twins.
On Thursday Juni and Krew (aka Teenage Mutant Ninja turtle) came over for the morning.
Let me just say that there is no "toy" more fun than a blow-up mattress (where the boys were sleeping that week) on the floor!
Kassie-girl (5 years old)...always the drama princess...
Ninja Krew (3 1/2 years old)...
Kelsey (5 years old) was a good little playmate...
...for Juni (2 years old).
They may or may not have been sporting traces of Halloween candy on their already-sweet faces.
What happens at Gramaw's house stays at Gramaw's house....until she posts it on her blog...
Then on Friday we had a somewhat unexpected visit from our Carolina grandbabies Lucy and Abram.
On another note, I am SO GLAD I decided to keep a few of my kids' playthings as well as oodles of Happy Meal kids' toys. The grandkids love the old-school stuff!
Oh goodness, how we love our Lucy-girl!
We hadn't seen her for several weeks...couldn't believe how quickly she is changing and growing up. Now 19 months old, she is such a little charmer!
Her brother Abram, 3 1/2, is not much for being still for photos. But Gramaw kept him occupied and happy...picking up dead flies from around our windows! (I'm not really THAT BAD of a housekeeper...for some reason, every fall we have hordes of black flies that invade the cabin and every day there are this many dead ones...weird....).
But the boy is a collector, and picking up dead flies kept him busy and happy for quite a while.
Lucy and Kassie watched the cats on the porch...unfortunately (or fortunately...), that's as close as the kitties will let you get. Open the door and they vamoose!
All my grandbabies are like their Gramaw in that they LOVE their ice cream!
A fitting end to every meal...and a good way to manipulate coax them into eating their "strong" foods.
Thankfully Papaw "worked" from home that week...you can see how hard he's working here! I was so thankful to have his help during a noisy, busy, active, fun...
...grandkids' week.
