Adios, Peru
11/15/2017
As hard as it was to leave this beautiful place, our fabulous three weeks in Peru had come to an end and we were missing our peeps and little cabin back home.
Our non-English-speaking driver picked us up at the Mancora resort and drove us to the tiny airport in Tumbes...
...for our flight back to Lima. Don't you love an airport with one check-in line and one gate?
We had one final evening in Miraflores, the affluent district of Lima. Our flight was to depart at 11 pm., so we had a few hours to enjoy before we headed back to the airport. Our Lima guide Juan met us at the airport and asked us what we'd like to do our last evening in Lima.
Eat.
It's always our go-to activity.
Of course, we had no idea just WHERE to go eat for a nice dinner out, so we told Juan, who we knew from several previous conversations had plenty of experience in the dating arena, to pick a nice place where he would take a beautiful girl for a serious night out.
He chose well. Very, very well!
This gorgeous oceanside restaurant is also a gathering place for surfers. Juan, a surfer himself, has spent many hours riding these waves.
Surf City, Lima-style.
The sun was just about to set as we arrived, although it was quite misty and cloudy that evening and the sunlight kinda just disappeared without fanfare.
Inside, the restaurant was gorgeous...
...and Juan made sure we were seated at a table with a spectacular view!
We watched the surfers...
...and, of course, the beautiful sea birds that we love so much!
The eats were scrumptious too...and creatively presented.
A fantastic ending...
...to a fabulous vacation in one of the most diverse and amazing nations on the globe.
We loved our time in South America!
Beautiful!!
