Timber!

Tree-1

Things look a lot different around the Gray cabin and homestead since the Tree Man came.

Tree-2

Seven dead or dying trees were cut down, and some limbs trimmed.

Tree-3

A big pecan tree that we planted when we first moved on the property 35 years ago...I'm excited to see the boards that will come out of this log!

Tree-4

Mostly big pines...some of them 75 years old or more.

Tree-5

Tree-6

Kim and his chainsaw have a LOT of clean-up work to do!

And our swings will have to find new home limbs...

Tree-7

Tree-10

This is a locust tree over at the kids' house next door to the cabin.  Sure opened up the yard to the sunshine!

Tree-11

Tree-12

A couple of cutie-patooties...my 4 1/2-year-old granddaughters Kassie and Kelsey...

Tree-14

Some much-needed trimming around the rec room...

Beemove-1

Remember the leaning tree from last week's post???

Tree-15

Down!

This one made me kinda sad...one of the biggest and oldest trees on the property.

Tree-17

But on closer inspection, it was doomed to fall one of these days.  The big pine was split at the base.  Had it fallen on its own, it would surely have done some major barn damage.

Tree-16

The woodchips were flying and trees were toppling all day long...

Timber!
