Graced

(Yes, that is the most DELICIOUS coconut cake I've ever laid my lips upon!)
Peggy and Brenda took me out for an early birthday celebration yesterday at a nice little cafe called Grace Place.
On Monday, I will turn 6-0...yes, that's a big number! But I'm so grateful God has graced me with so many years here on earth.
The three of us have shared life together for a good chunk of those 60 years (Peggy and Brenda are a little behind me in the age race...). Over the past 35 years or so, we've solved a lot of problems over cups of coffee and a sweet dessert. God knew I'd need a pick-me-up after a disappointing morning, and lunch with two of the dearest people I know was the perfect diversion.
Owner, chef, and entrepreneur, Carol Grace was all of our children's middle school home ec teacher, back when all kids had to take (and they actually HAD) home ec. She's always smiling and so energetic, and her little restaurant is cheery and fun. Oh, and the food is great too! I highly recommend you check it out.
And I couldn't help thinking how very blessed I am! God has given me a wonderful life, much better than I deserve, filled with the best family and friends a girl could ever hope to have.
Going to Grace Place was the perfect reminder I needed not to fret but just to feel the grace...of God, of family and friends, of everyday joys.
I truly am...
...GRACED.
