Celebrating Sixty

Terry-3

What a spectacular 60th birthday I had!

It started out with lots of birthday wishes, including a wonderful FaceTime call with my Carolina kids and grandkids.

But despite even that, I felt like I was under an invisible dark cloud. During a routine cancer follow-up appointment last week, the doctor saw a "shadow" on the CT scan that they wanted to further investigate. So I had a PET scan last Friday and yesterday I was to receive the results. All day long I felt like a dark cloud was hovering over me on my birthday and I dreaded to even hear what the doctor had to say.  But...PRAISE GOD...Dr. Bhatia said the PET scan showed nothing significant at this time!

Hip-hip-HOORAY!!!  A birthday gift from God Himself!

Now I could REALLY celebrate!

I drove over the Mama's to share my good news with her and lo-and-behold she'd baked my favorite cake, spice with penuche icing!!!

A cake selfie with the Mama before we dove into the cake!  With coffee, of course!

Then all of my local peeps met me at Pizza Hut for a birthday supper.  Kim had made me a spice cake too (YUM!) and Dana brought some delicious brownies (another favorite...who doesn't love a gooey brownie?!) and candles for a celebration!

After a dark start, the day ended on a sunshiny note!

What a great, great day...

...celebrating 60!

Terry,
I was simply delighted when I saw your Facebook post that all is well. A couple of times I had to go back after mammograms due to "shadows" and I remember the dread involved ... the cloud. But then I got the all is well and boy did life feel like a restart.
What a great restart on your 60th birthday. Happy year ahead with all your lovely peeps! Donna
