When the Parents are Away Finale

When the Parents are Away

K&dkids-44

Kristoffer and Dana went to Mexico last week and had the NERVE not to take us along!

So their 4 kids stayed with us at the cabin...and brought the FUN with them! Some photos from our adventures, in no particular order....

The boys were in school every day, so the girls and I hung out with some wild characters for lunch.

Pay no attention to the strange lady stalking them in the window reflection....

K&dkids-2

Before-school gaming...

K&dkids-3

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!  Any time, every day...

K&dkids-5

Kaden and Karter raided our change stashes to fill their boxes for a fundraiser at school. Sorting and counting and fighting over whose coin is whose kept them occupied for a little while.

K&dkids-6

Kassie's face lit up talking to Mommy on the phone....

K&dkids-7

They made their own pizzas for supper.

Kassie decided to cry just as I pulled out the camera.  The problem? Apparently Girlfriend had 2 too many pepperonis on her pizza. Yes, that is something to cry about...doesn't take much for that girl!

Tub time for all. I presented the shower option, but all 4 of them chose to take baths in Gramaw's big tub.

K&dkids-14

A nice, soothing bedtime story...

K&dkids-17

After the first night, Kassie asked if she and Kelsey could trade beds with me and Papaw.  The reason?  Apparently the queen-size guest bed is too small for two 4-year-old girls to share. Um..."NO".....our bed is also a queen size, and even if it weren't the answer would still be "No"...

K&dkids-18

Wake up, Sleeping Beauty!

K&dkids-20

The old schoolteacher came out in me as I quizzed Karter on his spelling words before school. Third grade is tougher than I remember. Most adults I know can't correctly spell "refrigerator" or "beggar"!

K&dkids-21

Kaden brushing his teeth before school.  When did he get so big?!

K&dkids-15

Orange day at school.  Pay $1 to wear orange. Of course, we had a bit of a scuffle over who was wearing what shirt, since they both wear the same size.

K&dkids-23

Kelsey is our little puzzler-extraordinaire!  She put together Curious George in Gramaw's office at church while I got a few things done there.

K&dkids-24

Kohls for shoes (can't let that Kohls Cash go to waste!) and a couple of trolls, then Cracker Barrel for lunch.

K&dkids-25

Meeting the boys as they got off the bus at their house. Even the neighbor's dog was excited to see them!

The adventures conclude in tomorrow's post...

...when the parents are away.
