Tsavo Safari

Tsavo-156

A couple of final safari posts from our time in Kenya when Kim and I, the Bells, and their niece Catherine spent a couple of days at Tsavo West National Park.

Tsavo-152

We stayed at Kilaguni, the favorite of the Bells and where they always take their mission teams for a couple of nights and days to enjoy God's creation.

Tsavo-3

Very nice accommodations...

Tsavo-213

...a great staff that has become good friends with the Bells...

Tsavo-226

...and an open dining room with an unforgettable view!

On a clear day, you can see Mt. Kilimanjaro from here.

Tsavo-4

The terrain of Tsavo is very different from our other safaris in Botswana, featuring volcanic cones throughout.

Tsavo-1

This colorful fella greeted us when we arrived.

Tsavo-9

And plenty of lilac-breasted rollers around too!

Tsavo-14

Some of my favorite photos from our two days at Tsavo...

Tsavo-11

Yes, that's an ostrich...

Very quiet and seemingly desolate...

What a surprise to see an elephant amongst the rocks on the mountainside!

And then, the grand finale at the end of our last Tsavo game drive...this beauty was lying right in the road! I was sitting in the back of the van playing with Ethan and Selah...by the time I got my camera up and ready, he was already slinking into the grass.

What a great way to end our...

...Tsavo safari.
