Tattoo Silliness
07/06/2016
Let me set the record straight right off the bat.
I am not a fan of tattoos. And I can assure you that this is the only tattoo I have ever had or ever intend to have!
I know, you're probably shocked. Not.
But when you go to a pool party and it's rainy and cold (although that didn't stop the kids from swimming!), there's nothing like a few temporary tattoos on a group of non-wild people to get the party rolling!
My sister Barb and her husband hosted the fun 4th of July weekend party for their peeps. We had a great time...even though the weather didn't exactly cooperate.
Barb doesn't let a little rain dampen her event! Enter the tattoos...
Even my straight-as-an-arrow husband allowed himself to be tatted.
When I crawled into bed that night, he put his arm around me and said, "I bet you never thought you'd sleep with a man with a butterfly tattoo."
Yep,he's right...never in my wildest dreams!
Mama and Barb's daughter (my niece) Sarah, flaunting their tatts...
Even Sarah's 13-year-old son Austin was a good sport. Thankfully his teenage friends weren't around...
Sweet Kassie-girl picked out appropriate tattoos for everyone, then hit the swing to avoid the craziness!
Barb's son Brett took some convincing, but he finally caved to the peer pressure.
Brett's wife Megan...
...and their two girls Mira (8)...
...and Maci (6 1/2). Where's your tattoo, Girlfriend?
My beautiful daughter Emily...
Favorite Son-in-Law Zach. I picked out one especially for him...it says "American Sweetheart." I know, he loves me! After all, I AM his favorite mother-in-law.
Kristoffer's girls were tickled to pick out a heart for their Daddy...
Kaden's is appropriate...if he's not a firecracker, I don't know who is!
Karter is always ready with a big smile for Gramaw's camera! Love that boy!
Barb's husband John was also a good sport!
Not looking forward to retirement, is he? Actually, they BOTH are retiring at the same time, about 10 months from now.
Last but not least, the tattooist herself got tatted! Mama thoroughly enjoyed applying it too.
When Barb was a little girl, she used to whoop and holler when Mama would wash her hair in the bathtub. The two of them went back in time about 50 years, as Mama had a firm grip on Barb and Barb was squawking loud enough to scare the neighbors.
Yep, it doesn't take much to entertain us.
Just a little...
...tattoo silliness.
