Over the weekend, Kim and I were blessed to witness his induction into the Hagerstown High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Not for his athletic prowess on the field, although by all counts Kenny was an outstanding athlete in his day.
This was for his efforts OFF the field, founding the Tiger Boosters club to support Hagerstown High School athletics and for all the time and effort he's spent over the last 40+ years volunteering in whatever capacity needed.
It would be impossible to list all of the volunteer work Kenny has done and continues to do. The man is amazing!
Kenny's partner in crime volunteerism is Ray Sharp, father of my sister-in-law Shellie and another Tiger-extraordinaire!
Between the two of them, they have elevated the Hagerstwown Tigers athletic program to one of the finest small-school programs in the state of Indiana.
Kenny will be 80 in July and I suspect Ray is in the same ballpark, and neither of them show any signs of slowing down.
What a blessing that all four of his children were able to attend the event! That's my husband Kim on the far left, Paula, Kenny, Pam, and Kent.
My mother-in-law Peggy, to whom Kenny was married for 52 years before she suffered from ALS and passed in 2007, was surely smiling down on this group from her Heavenly home.
Four wonderful, successful children flanking their father...
...without a doubt, a man of merit.
