As the ultimate basketball month is upon us, I wanted to share a few more hoops shots from my grandsons' final games before we move onto baseball season.
Karter (our 7-year-old second-grader wearing GREEN socks!) was one of the best players on his 2nd-3rd grade team.
And definitely the best dribbler on his team, if not the entire league!
I was proud of his coach (my son and his daddy Kristoffer!), who taught the kids to set up plays and pass the ball...something most coaches did not do.
Looking for a shot over his tall defender...
Father and son watch the court action...
We were so proud of his vast improvement in the past year...he was much more aggressive and really hustled!
We had so much fun watching him compete! And I just love this shot of him "flying" through the air!
Of course, as always there was plenty of action in the cheering section as well as on the court!
Kaden is our 6-year-old kindergartener, and he played on the K-1 league.
Kaden has basketball in his blood...he spends practically every free waking moment shooting hoops.
It was fun to finally see him use his skills in "real" games.
He's a very good shooter and was often the high point man for his team.
Kado played some pretty mean defense too, often against kids older and taller than him.
Getting congrats from Coach Dad!
On or off the court, Kaden just enjoys life!
He ended his season on a great note, scoring a season-high 22 points!
When his daddy told him he was "on" that day, his response: "On fire!" That's our humble (but truthful) Kaden!
Our attention now turns from these youngest players to rooting on one of the best college teams in the country, the Indiana University Hoosiers!
But I didn't want to let the season end without sharing...
...a few more hoops shots.
