While we were at the beach, we couldn't pass up an opportunity to meet up with some of Mama's side of the family, our Britt peeps.

 

Emerald Isle in July is awesome...but Emerald Isle is also absolutely WONDERFUL in December!

 

I dare you NOT to get into the spirit of Christmas when you go to a school kindergarten program!

Especially one with the smiliest boy I've ever seen, our Kaden.

 

Just in case any of you were wondering why I didn't post yesterday, Kim and I left super-early with my sister Barb and her husband John and drove 14 hours to hear the calming, wonderful sounds of the ocean.

We're getting in a few days of R & R filled with salty air, glorious sea breezes, fresh shrimp and hush puppies,and lots and lots of laughter.

Last Saturday was the beginning of family Christmas celebrations for us.

 

Cold, still, foggy mornings create fleeting, unsurpassed winter beauty.

I had to stop and take a few photos on my father-in-law's road of the frosty beauty around me.

 

The Saturday before Thanksgiving, our 15-year-old TV (which was state-of-the-art when we bought it) developed neon purple and green lines across the top.

Everyone knows you HAVE to have a TV for Thanksgiving,...

 

After tomorrow, I won't have to see this place until January.

Nothing against any of the medical staff there...I've received excellent care, but I'm really over it all and ready to be done.

 

Our little cabin is quiet now, but last week it was bustling with the most adorable little toddlers.

What a great way to start the day, sitting across the table from my sweet Krew!

 

My baby sister, Maria, flew up from Florida with her daughter Seanna (baby sister to her brother Wyatt, who stayed behind to play football) to spend Thanksgiving week with us.

They came to the cabin earlier that week to visit and meet Krew and his baby sister Juni.
