Morning Musings
12/24/2015
As I'm waiting for the sun to come up (this gorgeous sunrise was from a few days ago) on this morning before Christmas, a few thoughts to share...
- What a year this has been! With the wonderful exceptions of Juni's birth and a couple of nice trips to Costa Rica and Alaska, 2015 was not a good year. But 2016 promises to be much, much better!!!
2. Tomorrow is Christmas ("It's practically here!") and I've still got a little shopping to do this morning and several more gifts to wrap. I work best under pressure...
3. And the cabin to clean??? Oh, who cares?! The gifts getting wrapped are much more critical!
4. I wish all those inches of rain we got yesterday were snow instead...just doesn't feel like Christmas when it's 60 degrees outside....
5. Talk about WIND...we sure got some vicious, knock-over-trees-and-destroy-trampolines winds yesterday in the midst of a terrible thunderstorm. On December 23. Wow.
6. My favorite church service of the year is tonight. I LOVE our Christmas Eve service, topped off with a candlelight singing of "Silent Night" with our whole church family standing together in a HUGE circle! Very, very special....
7. We kept the 3-year-old twin girls yesterday. If you aren't in the Christmas spirit, find a little one to talk to and I guarantee they'll put you in the mood. They trotted around the cabin all morning, wearing Santa hats and singing random lines of Christmas songs. They make Gramaw's heart smile!
8. Wondering how Daddy is celebrating Christmas in Heaven this year...he always LOVED Christmas! So many wonderful memories...we sure miss him down here!
9. I'm feeling stronger every day! And I am so very grateful to God for His healing power and mercy. Next year at this time, my cancer journey will be nothing but a bad bump in the road...
10. Time's a'wastin' and I've got LOTS to do this Christmas Eve!!!
Thanks for sharing a few moments with me and my...
...morning musings.
