House Holiday Hoopla
12/30/2015
Everyone who knows us knows that when the House family gets together, there's plenty of hoopla.
This Christmas Day, we were down in numbers...only 17 of us...but definitely UP in Christmas spirit!
After filling our tummies with lots of food, it was time for presents! All the children helped pass them out, including Krew who handed Gran-Gran one of her gifts.
Since our main Christmas celebration with all of our children and grandchildren wasn't until December 26 (see tomorrow's post...if you aren't sick of Christmas posts yet...), I decided to get each of the children just a little something to open. We got Karter (7 years old) and Kaden (5) these personalized cash boxes, opened only with a combination or keys. They loved them!
For 3-year-olds Kelsey and Kassie, a musical ballerina jewelry box like all little girls need to have. I had one myself many moons ago, and my granddaughters were just as mesmerized as I was by the twirling ballerina and music box.
Krew, 22 months old, liked his toy cash register...
...and his 4-month-old sister Juni immediately christened her new elephant activity toy with her sweet drool!
Mama did really well considering this is her first Christmas without Dad. At least, she put on a brave face for us. She got several gifts, but her favorite Moon Pies sure got her smiling!
Papaw read the girls about the Grinch from our ancient, cover-free copy.
Karter and Kaden playing with the smart watches that Santa brought them that morning...
And some more photos from the day...
Sweet little Krew-man...
Gran-Gran helping them pop the bubble-wrap...
Cousin Kelsey helping feed little Juni....
The kids LOVE Aunt Emmy and Uncle Zach!
Such a cute Kassie-elf!
Mama and my sister Barb with Juni...
Uncle Zach mistakenly thought he could take a quiet nap...
Kamaron brought Krew and Juni, as Anique was still under the weather.
Juni was in baby heaven all day...she got passed around and loved all the attention! Aunt Emmy held her lots...
...and Gran-Gran took her turn too. Juni is definitely checking her out!
While Zach had the kids occupied, the rest of the adults joined in a real adult conversation at the table. No, Dana's not sleeping...I must've caught her mid-blink! It happens...
Krew had fun following his older cousins around...(I love his wild blond hair!)...
...and didn't mind one bit when Kelsey fed him the rest of her ice cream!
I'm so thankful Mama, Barb & John, and some of our children and grandchildren could join us...
...for the always-entertaining House holiday hoopla!
