All the June rain we had and the cooler temperatures may have been aggravating to some of us humans, but the flowers exploded in the perfect growing conditions.

Being the nerd that I am, when I read that last night there would be an unusual convergence of Jupiter and Venus, I braved the mosquitoes to get a glimpse of the phenomenon and take a few photos.

But before I even made it past the pines to view the western sky, I saw the big, beautiful nearly-full moon shining down on me.
