Saturday Snapshots and Snippets

Fresh strawberries from our patch!
One of my very favorite meals in the whole world...fresh strawberries with sugar, over hot biscuits with milk poured over the whole shebang.
Oh. My. Goodness. HEAVENLY!!!
A couple of weeks ago, Karter and Kaden spent a Saturday night with us.
Sunday morning, as I was fixing breakfast, they wrote down palindromes they knew...or made up.
(A palindrome, for those who may not remember, is a word or phrase that is the same spelled backwards and forwards...)
"A man a plan a canal Panama" (Karter said this is one that his teacher, Mr. Zehr, told him)
"Too hot to hoot"
"Never odd or even"
"Race car"
"Wow"
"Tot"
"Nurses run"
"Mom"
"Did Bob poop Bob did" (one of Kaden's entries...)
And my personal favorite..."God's dog"
Aren't all 5- and 6-year-olds obsessed with things like palindromes???....
My brother Mark and his family visited from Texas last week.
They stayed at Mama's house, and Mark kept very busy doing some helpful tasks to help clean up the place.
Like chopping down and cleaning up this dead tree.
Maybe we will keep him around for a little while longer....
While our newest granddaughter's name is a closely-kept secret until her arrival in early August, Mommy Anique has given us a couple of clues.
Her name starts with "J" and has 7 letters.
My nieces Blaise and Scout had fun making a list of guesses...some VERY INTERESTING ones on there!
Time will tell if they guessed correctly....Anique won't tell.....
In the midst of the sadness and gloom of visiting our rapidly-failing Dad at the Alzheimer's home at Elmcroft, there was a glimmer of cuteness.
Seven little mallard ducklings with their mama in the courtyard! Aren't they adorable?!
If Dad were even remotely himself, he would be out there loving on those ducklings, for sure.....
Krew had his own ice cream cone at Gran-Gran's.
He loved it! Yes, he did!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
