One Last Glimpse Back

Lamansion-22

One month ago, we were on an airplane winging our way toward a fantastic vacation. A few more photos before I close the Costa Rica travelogue...

Costa Rica has very cool money!  The towels on the left are all replications of the designs on their paper bills.

Can you find the bird in this photo?  It's called a potoo, and its camouflage makes it look just like a tree branch.

Tiny little tent-making bat...

If there was any disappointment about the trip, it was our lack of sloth-sightings.  After reading that there were more sloths in Costa Rica than people, I thought we'd see lots of sloths hanging around. We only saw two, very high in the trees, and had our guide not pointed them out I'd have thought they were big hornets' nests.

Even though the rainforests are supposedly full of tiny, red-eyed and poisonous dart varieties, this peaceful little guy was the only frog we saw.

We saw and especially heard (they are very noisy!) groups of parakeets flying around and hanging out in the palm trees at our hotel, but they were elusive to photograph.  Finally got a half-way decent shot of them on our last morning there...

We shared our porch with this 18" iguana, which lived inside the drainpipe just outside our room.

Misc-1

Other tourists must have shared our disappointment at the lack of sloth-sightings, as the airport had this take-a-selfie-with-a-sloth mural on the wall.

Yep, that's me with my crazy but carefree vacation hair...

Sunset at 35,000 feet...

We definitely want to return to beautiful Costa Rica!  (Is tomorrow too soon, Kimmie???)  Especially after this...

...one last glimpse back.
