Behind those big blues that little brain is always thinking....

And at only two years old, Kelsey has already learned...

...how to use her beauty and charm and that innocent little face to her advantage.

Thursday evening, she and her siblings were at the cabin and after supper, Kelsey put on Kaden's croc shoes and was walking around in them.

About an hour later, when it was time for them to go home, the crocs were missing.

I asked Kelsey where the shoes were, and she looked up at me with those big serious eyes and said, "I don't know."

I believed her.  

Kim, Kristoffer, and I scoured the cabin looking for the shoes.  There really aren't very many places they could be.  The cabin is small, and only about half of the 1600 square feet is even accessible to her.  So we looked and looked and looked, under every couch and chair, inside every kitchen cabinet within her reach, in the trash can, in the toy box.  Nothing.

"Where did you put Kaden's shoes, Kelsey?"

"I don't know."

I believed her.

Finally, having exhausted every place we thought possible and triple-checking everywhere, we gave up and Kaden went home shoeless (thankfully, in the car so he didn't have to walk!).

After they left, Kim and I thoroughly searched again.  It seems those crocs had just disappeared.

Then yesterday morning, as I was using the guest bathroom early in the morning, I noticed a tiny flash of green amidst all the wood.

And there they were, the missing crocs between an old wooden stool and the bathroom wall.

Miss Kelsey had carefully dropped each shoe behind the heavy stool.  In all our searching, I'd looked on top of the stool and under the front of it.  I even looked under that cabinet beside it, but somehow missed the dark crocs in the dimly-lit corner of the bathroom.

She totally knew where she had put those shoes, and she just decided not to tell us.
