Especially when it concerns two 6-year-old and 4-year-old little boys that have been cooped up in their van for the better part of 2 days, hardly being able to contain their excitement about spending a week at the beach.

I so remember that surreal feeling as a child, how it seems the earth is moving as the waves roll in and out.

Okay, I still have the feeling the first time I stick my feet in the ocean again...

Right after we all arrived on Emerald Isle, Papaw and I volunteered to take Kaden and Karter on a WALK on the beach while their mommy and daddy unloaded their van and got things organized for the week.

Just a little walk.

Just a little walk, with the waves tickling their toes.

I told their mommy they wouldn't get wet.

Oops.

Even Kim and I ended up getting our pants wet.

It's just impossible to resist the lure of the ocean....

And Mommy Dana wasn't the least bit surprised when Karter and Kaden came grinning into the beach house, soaked in saltwater from heads to toes.

Oh well, maybe next time...maybe....they won't get wet......
