My cousin Lydia recently posted this photo of our late grandpa, Andy Crowell Britt, and it got me thinking about him.

Born September 1, 1912, 101 years ago, Grandpa Andy was one-of-a-kind.

Driving home from Mama and Dad's, when I've got a little extra time I love to meander the backroads and see whatever there might be to see.

Our church sponsored a 5K Run in the SON early Saturday morning.

Several runners but a whole lot more walkers, including Dana and her mama Vicky plus the twins in the stroller.

Old-fashioned kids' games are a tradition at Community Days.  While browsing through the photos I took of my grandkids and church children, what I loved most was their adorable faces!

Kaden and Macee are in the same Sunday School class and Preschool class.  Aren't they adorable?

It may not be the Macy's Thanksgiving or Tournament of Roses Parade, but the annual Sulphur Springs Community Days parade is a big deal in our little town, kicking off a busy Saturday of community fun.

David has officially moved off of the Gray homestead and into The Guest House, the local men's homeless shelter, where he will be the caretaker in addition to his family life ministry at our church.

Before he left, David and Zach spent a day custom-barbequing a feast for the rest of us.

My sisters are back at their own homes now.

After spending a week together helping Mama and Dad get through their surgery ordeal, hospital stay, and recuperation at home, Barb headed back to Bloomington and Maria flew home to Florida.

I miss them already.

For the first few months of their lives, they were oblivious to each other. 

Kassie and Kelsey seemed to not even realize that they were a pair, twins.

That all has definitely ended.

Driving northwest up Highway 58, leaving the beach behind and heading homeward, we pass right through the heart of Mama's old stomping grounds.

Maysville was home during most of her youth, a small town (it's bigger now than it was when she was young) in Jones County. 

Folks still tell me that Mama was the prettiest girl in Jones County, and I do reckon that was probably true.
