Hi!  I'm Terry!
I'm living a wonderful
life in rural Indiana
with my husband of
31 years.... the mother to 4 grown children, mother-in-
law to 4, and Gramaw to
2 precious grandsons!

I love it out here in the country, but I'm not really into the "country girl" lifestyle, so I consider myself to be a Not-Quite-Country Girl!
I started this website in July 2008 as a way of
keeping my children, who are scattered hither and yon, up with what's happening back on our 40-acre farm.  It's turned out to be more fun than I even imagined...an opportunity for me to share my love for photography and ramble on about my ordinary life.
  God has richly blessed me!
  Welcome to my Not-Quite-Country world!

SUPER SUNDAY SWEET MOMENTS

While Kristoffer and Dana were having a sweet time at the Super Bowl game and festivities (they had TICKETS, yes they did!), Kim and I had our own sweet Super Sunday time keeping our little grandsons all day.

Daddy and Mommy dropped them off about 7:20 am, still all cozy in their PJs.

Papaw entertained them with Blue's Clues while Gramaw made waffles and sausage for breakfast.  After breakfast, Papaw helped get them dressed and we (amazingly!) made it to Sunday School and church with time to spare.

Aunt Emmy and Uncle Zach were there to help us out with the boys and we all hit Pizza Hut for a buffet lunch after worship.  Then it was back to the cabin for the always-cherished nap time.

Kaden immediately conked out nestled in Gramaw and Papaw's bed, but Karter was not quite so quick to fall asleep.  In his usual Karter-manner, he talked and sang for nearly 45 minutes and then he began to call "Gramaw!"

I went in to tell him it was time to be quiet and go to sleep, and big old crocodile tears welled up in his eyes as he declared he'd already slept "for a little while."  I may have begged to differ, but I couldn't bear to see the tears spill over so I suggested I'd lay down beside him on the queen-size bed and take a nap too.

He smiled and turned to face me and we got all snuggled in.  I closed my eyes, and I could feel him watching me so I dared not open them.  It wasn't more than a few minutes later that I heard that deep, deep sleep-breathing that could only mean he'd fallen asleep and I slowly opened my eyes.

Super-Sweet Moment #1:  Just inches from my own nose, the peaceful closed eyelids of my precious 3 1/2 year old Karter, a cherubic little face with his long lashes lying against his sweet cheek.  There is no more beautiful sight in the world than that!

I watched him sleep for a few minutes, then sneaked out of the room to find my own nap spot in front of the fireplace.

Just as they were waking from their nice long naps (yes!), Grandpa Kenny and Joyce arrived to join us for supper.  Grandpa Kenny took his turn reading a few books to the boys...

...while Kim made us all supper.

We didn't have to call Kaden twice!

Yes, he is a GRAY man!!!

The boys were not all that interested in the game itself, but they did like some of the commercials...especially the polar bear ones (Coca-Cola).

Kim was glued to the TV, the boys mostly played, and I bounced between the two the whole first half.  We were busy doing puzzles near the end of the first half and I told the boys that when the halftime show started I was going to stop playing with them and go sit on the couch to watch it.

I've always been a Madonna fan (I know...I'm secretly a wild woman!) and I knew she'd put on a great show.

Which she did, by the way.

Karter danced to the music while Kaden mostly watched.

During the performance, Kim and I commented to each other about how much we liked it and when it was over and Madonna vanished off the stage, we all clapped.

Super Sweet Moment #2:  Kaden, who had pretty much been mesmerized by the whole show, got a big grin on his face and shouted, seemingly out of the blue, in his dutchy little 2-year-old voice, "That was AWESOME!"  So stinkin' cute!!!

After halftime, we picked up the toys and rounded up all the clothes and kid-equipment and walked down the road to their house to put them to bed.

Bedtime was easy and without incident (although this exhausted Gramaw decided that a bath was not a necessity this particular night) and Kim and I stretched out in the living room to watch the end of the game and await the kids' arrival home.

Super Sweet Moment #3:  Tom Brady's last-second pass was knocked down in the end zone, sealing a super-sweet victory for Peyton's little brother Eli and sending the despised Patriots and Pretty-Boy Brady home disappointed again.  (My apologies to any Patriot fans...are there any out there?...but they are not well-liked in this neck of the woods....)

Kristoffer and Dana arrived home about 12:30 am to find, not surprisingly, two completely wiped out grandparents snoring in their living room.  They had had a blast and so had we!

It was a day to remember, a...

....Super Sunday of sweet moments for all of us!
