HOT-Diggity Shindig

Shndg-8

We can say it was the HOTTEST Summer Shindig in the 4 years our church has been hosting it!  But the 90+degrees and 100% humidity didn't keep us from having a hot-diggity time!

The inflatable obstacle courses gave the kids a chance to work off some of their excited energy.

Shndg-20

The Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department...

Shndg-20

...loaded up the fireworks for the evening finale.

You know you live in the country when your fireworks are stored on a hay wagon....

Shndg-20

A hot job on such a blistering day...but the burgers and dogs were delicious!

Shndg-20

Our Cincinnati bunch made the drive up to celebrate with us.

Shndg-41

A couple of our senior church members...the heat didn't keep these gals at home!

And a few of the many cute kids, including our little Lucy!

Shndg-54

New this year was a Water Show, which was a hit with everyone.

No one seemed to mind getting a little wet on such a hot day!

Shndg-54

Kristoffer was a good sport...

Shndg-54
Shndg-54

...and got more than just a "little" wet!

Shndg-67

My youngest son Kyler was also drafted to help with the show...

Shndg-67

I guess my kids are easy prey!

Shndg-67

Granddaughter Lucy was soaked...

Shndg-67

As a matter of fact, most of the kids there ended up pretty wet.  But they loved it!

Our youth pastor Bryan got soaked...

Shndg-73

...but he got his revenge!

Shndg-88

Dana and Courtney kept busy all evening behind the Sno-Kone machine.  They made over 300 snowcones!

Shndg-88
Shndg-88

Patriotic tattoos!  Abram, of course, chose a firecracker with FIRE!

Shndg-88

Shndg-93

Lucy-girl chose a heart...

Shndg-93

...and Kassie went for two!

Emily organized some fun games for the little kids...

Shndg-120

...and Kristoffer organized a Cornhole Tournament for the bigger kids.

Shndg-120

Shndg-113

Sam may be 9 months pregnant, but she can flat toss a beanbag right into that hole!

Shndg-120

She and hubby Bryan are the Sulphur Springs Cornhole Champions for the 2nd time in 4 years.

Shndg-130

Kassie...

Shndg-130

Kaden and his buddies...

Shndg-130

Karter....

Shndg-130

Kelsey....

Shndg-130

Abram...

Shndg-130

And Lucy, along with all the other kids, had some fun with giant sparklers just as it began to get dark.

Shndg-150

And for the evening's finale, the volunteer firefighters prepare to set off the BEST fireworks show in Sulphur Springs!
