Whew!!!  What a crazy, busy, fun, exhausting, uplifting, challenging, renewing, Jesus-filled 5 days we had last week!

Vbs-27

Each day we had 75 children (including 6 of my grandchildren) come through our church doors for a morning of learning about and worshiping Jesus.

My assignment was to take pictures and prepare a daily spotlight video, as well as cruise around and take photos for our Sunday slideshow.

Definitely my cup of tea!

But I have to admit, my grandchildren showed up in lots of the photos.  I can't help myself!

Karter and Kelsey were in the same group...

Pastor CJ/my boss taught the Bible story each day...

Our youth pastor Bryan was the head honcho of VBS....and did a great job!  He's just a big kid himself, so he relates well....

Kaden as a "lost sheep"...

Karter (in the middle) always celebrates his birthday during VBS week.  Ten years ago I was helping with Bible School when I got the exciting news that my first grandchild had been born up in Minnesota!

I will never forget that day.  I also got my first-and-only speeding ticket that day...but that's another story for another time....

Favorite Daughter Emily (red shirt, using her strong lungs to blow up a palm tree) also helped as needed, bringing the two little ones in her care to join the fun.

By mid-week, we (the adults, anyway...) were beginning to run out of steam and signaled God for help.  As He always does, He came through!

I was grateful to bring my grandson Krew for one day.  He had attended his own church's Bible School for a few days beforehand, so he was only able to come one day.  But he loved it all!

Glowsticks were a super-neat way to remind the kids to let their Jesus-light shine in the darkness of the world.

At the very end of the last day, the kids always enjoy watching some of the teenage crew leaders get slimed!

Despite the work and exhaustion involved, Vacation Bible School is always one of my favorite weeks each summer, and this year was no exception.

Great reminders every day for all of us adults as well as the children, that Jesus is our Great Rescuer.

A FANTASTIC week, all around...
