Soccer Balls and Dandelions

Krw-7

Our 4-year-old grandson Krew is playing his first team sport this year.

Although Krew is tall for his age, he seems so little out there on the soccer field...

Krew's got soccer in his blood...Mommy Anique was a very talented player (as were her brothers) and Daddy Kamaron was also good on the soccer field, which he traded for a football field as he got older.

Although he's not the most aggressive player on his team, Krew has a good concept of the game and has always had great foot/eye coordination and a strong leg for kicking.

Watching these little ones play is quite entertaining.  And if you get tired, you just take a break...right where you are.

Playing goalie...yes he's ready....

Krw-30

Or was he?!

Krew is a rather serious little guy and not a big smiler, but he really does love playing the game!

The gal who is Krew's coach played for Anique when Anique was coaching in the Greenfield league.  Small world!

After his first practice, I asked Krew if he liked soccer.  "Yes!  I have a real coach!"  Love it!

Krw-42

Injury assessment...I think he'll survive....

Toward the end of the game, Krew discovered a perfect dandelion puff on the field.

And everyone knows you must PICK a perfect dandelion puff...

...and carry it throughout the rest of the game.

Hard to decide which to focus on...soccer or dandelions?

Krw-51

Game-ending handshakes.

No official score is kept, but I do believe the only goal we scored was kicked in by the other team....

Krw-52

High-fives from Coach Gabby...

Krw-55
And, of course, the true motivation for all youth sports...the all-important after-game snack!

Krw-49

Simple doses of childhood joy, all wrapped up in...

Krw-29

....soccer balls and dandelions.
