Gray Christmas Grand Finale

Grybnch-10

Christmas 2017 is in the books.

The decorations are packed away, the pine needles swept up (although I'll likely find stray ones all year long...), the trash burned, the bills paid.

The UPS/FedEx delivery trucks no longer make daily stops at the cabin. (I really liked that part...)

Yes, my photos are a little late as we're already over a week into the new year.  But in all fairness, I'm really only a week late since our family Christmas grand finale was on December 30.  It was the best day when all 18 of us, plus Grandpa Kenny, could all get together.

Granddaughter Lucy (20 months old) is ready to party!

Grybnch-2

Of course, no celebration where Abram (3 1/2) is involved is complete without candles!  Yes, Gramaw feeds his obsession shamelessly....

Grybnch-8

We celebrated with my father-in-law Kenny earlier in the month, but we were glad he came to spend time with all of us.  Juni (2) doesn't snuggle up to just anyone easily.

Grybnch-12

Cheers from the kids' table!

Grybnch-19

December 30 also happens to be Kyler's birthday, so I made him a spice cake for his 29th.

Even though I discovered, after I had bought the buttermilk to make it, that spice cake is not his favorite.  He likes it, but not his favorite.  Oh well...it's MY favorite, so I forged ahead.  Next year I might actually consider making HIS favorite...

My little elves...and their great-papaw elf...

Karter (9 1/2), Juni (2), Krew (3 1/2), Kaden (7 1/2), Kassie & Kelsey (5), Lucy (20 months), Abram (3 1/2), and Great-Papaw Kenny (81).

Okay, Gramaw, we posed for your picture.  NOW can we FINALLY open PRESENTS???!!!

Grybnch-25

I do think I've got the most adorable elves around!  Karter (9 1/2) is Gramaw's head elf.

Grybnch-27

Kassie (5) was eager to help...

Grybnch-26

...as were Kaden (7 1/2) and Kelsey (5).  They had pretty much scouted out whose present was whose long before this.

Grybnch-30

Let the madness begin!

These little dogs are the CUTEST things ever!!!  I got one for Kelsey for her 5th birthday and decided right then to get some for Juni and Lucy.  Highly recommend for anyone looking for a gift for a 18-month to 6-year-old...adorable.  No batteries needed...there are little springs in their legs and they hop along behind.

Dana was pretty thrilled (she looks thrilled, doesn't she?!) with the 4 giant suckers her kids were bringing home.

Kara snuggling THREE babies...Lucy, a baby doll, and our 9th grandchild due to brighten our world in May!

Cousin moments... You never strike-out with Nerf guns.

"You'll shoot your eye out," was heard multiple times....

Grandpa Kenny showed off his new vehicle!  Nice ride, Kenny!!!

Grybnch-105

Zach got a drone for Christmas and despite the sub-zero temperature and piercing arctic winds, he and Emily launched its maiden flight.

It got up, but the landing didn't go quite as planned.  But they took it in stride...just a little more practice (and new propellers)... Definitely NOT ideal flying weather!

Karter and Kaden loved their FitBits.  Growing up way too fast.....

These two brothers...no one dared get in on THIS conversation...

Grybnch-162

I've seen these looks on Kamaron and Kyler's faces as they banter for 29 years now....both intense and neither one gives an inch.  Love them!
