Our Texas Gang

Markalli-22

Earlier this summer, we enjoyed a fun visit with our peeps from Texas.

My brother Mark and his family...Alli, Scout (7 1/2), Blaise (11), Ethan (13 1/2)...made the 24-hour drive to Indiana from their home near San Antonio.

My 4-year-old granddaughters Kelsey and Kassie adore Blaise...

Markalli-13

...who is always so patient with them and brings the fun with her.

Markalli-15

I just love these girls!!!

Meanwhile, inside Mama's house, Ethan demonstrated his card tricks for my grandsons Karter (9) and Kaden (7) and sister Scout.

Mark's girls kept Mama's table decorated...

Markalli-30

Following our annual summertime tradition, when Mark and Alli come we celebrate everybody's birthday at once with a "specially-decorated" cake.

Markalli-31

There's always the fight dilemma about who gets to do the decorating...

Markalli-32

...so this year my sister Barb had the brilliant idea to let EVERYONE add their own icing and embellishments in the 90 seconds allotted them.

The kids all loved doing it!  Barb's grandson Austin (14) put on the finishing touches.

Markalli-39

Ummm...yeah...well probably not going to win a cake decorating competition, but it tasted better than it looked.

"Happy Birthday to us, happy birthday to us,...

Markalli-42

...happy birthday, everybody...happy birthday to us!"

In one of MY favorite traditions, Aunt Terry (aka ME) always takes Blaise to Abbott's candy.

All of those treats may or may not have made it back to the County Line Road...

Mama with 3 of her grandchildren and 5 of her great-grandkids...

One of my Grandpa Andy Britt's tractors made the trip back down to Texas when they left. It tilled soil in North Carolina, Indiana, and one day (after a lot of work!) will do the same in Texas.

Markalli-51

My baby brother Mark...so proud of him!

Markalli-43

Always great to see...

...our Texas gang.
